NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rescheduled the application window for the Class 12 examination re-evaluation process to June 1. The decision comes after technical complications disrupted the initial timeline, which was originally slated to run from May 26 to May 29.
According to an official statement by the Board, the dedicated online portal for submitting re-evaluation requests will now go live on the revised date of June 1.

In a related development, the CBSE has decided to penalise COEMPT, the external agency contracted for examination management. The punitive action stems from the company’s failure to efficiently implement the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, which led to significant operational setbacks.
The systemic lapses have drawn acknowledgement from the Union Ministry of Education. With the Education Minister admitting to evaluation discrepancies, student bodies and educators have intensified their demands for the allotment of grace marks to safeguard students' academic prospects.

Further compounding the controversy, the Board is facing sharp criticism from various stakeholders for a recent directive issued to schools. The CBSE had reportedly instructed educational institutions to create and upload social media reels and promotional videos praising the efficiency of the OSM system—a move critics call tone-deaf given the system's current technical failures.
