KOZHIKODE: A war of words has broken out between the Muslim religious organizations and the CPM over the Zumba controversy. KNM leader Hussain Madavoor came forward criticizing Minister R Bindu for her statement that we are not living in the 19th century. Hussain also said that Zumba is being imposed in schools without a scientific foundation.

Hussain responded that if leftist organizations including SFI do not change their stance, the people will do it. Hussain, who said that the effort is to return to the primitive era when we lived without clothes, also said that it is not right to dance intimately wearing little clothes.

SFI is supporting this out of stupidity. Leftist organizations including SFI will have to change their stance. If not, the people will change their stand. While talking to a media, he said that Zumba dancing will not be allowed in their schools.

'Zumba ensures the physical and mental health of children. What is wrong in conducting Zumba in schools? Children have taken up Zumba with great enthusiasm. Everyone should think according to the times. We are not living in a primitive medieval era,' said Minister Bindu yesterday. The minister was responding to a question from journalists about Samastha's stand that Zumba should not be implemented in schools.
