Youth allergic to crabs consumes curry, dies while undergoing treatment 

KOCHI: A youth, who was undergoing treatment for allergy after consuming crab curry, died Wednesday afternoon. The dead is Elgin Jude (33) of Kureekkal House in Cheppanam. The cause of death was a severe allergic reaction after eating crab curry.

Jude developed uneasiness on Saturday night after eating homemade crab curry. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Nettoor. He died yesterday afternoon while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. He had developed allergic issues earlier also after having crab curry. He had avoided such foods after that. He had crab curry again after a long time. The body will be handed over to his relatives after postmortem. The last rites of the youth will be held at the Chathamma Nithyasahaya Matha Church Cemetery at 4.30 pm today.
