KOTTAYAM: A lapse was noticed in the Janakeeya Prathirodha Jatha led by CPM state secretary M V Govindan, when it reached Kottayam. The incident happened during the reception accorded to the jatha at Pampady in Kottayam. Some from the audience left when the secretary was speaking. Govindan was upset when a few left. However, the secretary got very upset when people from the audience left a second time. He said 'hello, ask them to sit there’, some are doing research to wipe out the jatha and these people are thinking about how to disrupt it and not how to hold it.

There was also a controversial incident when the jatha which started to defend and explain the allegations against the party on various issues, reached Mala in Thrissur. Govindan scolding the mike operator when he came to repair his mike had stoked a controversy. Govindan's remarks in favour of K Rail were also discussed.
