THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed to charge a case against BJP state president K Surendran for his remarks against Minister PA Muhammad Riyas. Fraternity Movement State General Secretary Adil Abdul Rahim filed a complaint with the DGP. According to the complaint, Surendran's statement was a racial insult and aimed at creating religious rivalry in the society.

"K Surendran's statement that Minister Mohammad Riyas has links with banned organizations including PFI and that he was appointed as a minister to get votes of Muslim terrorists is a racial insult to an elected representative and is aimed at inciting religious rivalry in society. Although he is a minister, Surendran called him a terrorist just because he is Muslim. The complaint was filed as no legal action was taken by the government or the left wing in Surendran's statement.”, said Adil.

Surendran said this remark yesterday. Minister Veena George, V Sivankutty and many others came out against this.
