Attempt to abduct trader in Kattakkada; two including cop held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two people were arrested in the incident of trying to abduct a trader in Kattakkada. Vineeth, a policeman from Nedumangad and his friend Arun were arrested. They disguised themselves as cops and tried to abduct the trader with handcuffs.

Vineeth was under suspension in a financial fraud case. He was running a tiles shop and as he incurred loss, he tried to abduct the trader identified as Mujeeb for money. He hired another policeman's car to abduct him. The Kattakkada police has taken the car into custody.

On the pretext of checking the vehicle, the accused disguised as cops stopped the car of Mujeeb, the owner of an electronic company, last Saturday. After stopping the car, they entered his car and handcuffed him. The police team later reached the spot and released his handcuffs and set him free.
