kattakkada-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Accused in the Kattakkada Christian College union election impersonation case remanded. Ex-principal TJ Shaiju and SFI leader and college student Visakh have been remanded. According to the remand report, both of them have committed the serious crime of trying to sabotage a democratic election.

According to the police remand report, Shaiju misused the position of principal for SFI leader Visakh's personal advantage. The High Court had earlier rejected the bail pleas of Visakh and Shaiju. The court also asked the two accused to appear before the investigating officers on the 4th of this month. According to this, both of them surrendered at the Kattakkada police station today and were then remanded.

The case alleges that the name of AS Anagha, who won as university union councilor from Kattakkada Christian College, was changed and the name of SFI area secretary Visakh was included and the list was submitted to the university. The police registered a case on charges of forgery, breach of trust and impersonation. Allegations of police negligence in finding the absconding SFI leader have been present since the beginning of the case.
