 Sexually harassed 17-year-old girl who came to shop; 47-year-old man sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and fine

THALASSERY: A shop owner has been sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for sexually harassing a girl who came to the shop. It was Fast-track special court judge TT George who sentenced shop owner Kaivelikkal native CK Saju (47). The accused will have to spend an additional three months in jail if he fails to pay the fine.

The incident related to the case took place on July 5, 2018. The girl had come to Saju's shop to get an umbrella repaired. It was found that the accused had behaved indecently towards the 17-year-old girl after kissing her.

It was former Panoor SI K Santhosh who investigated the case and submitted the chargesheet. Special prosecutor PM Bansuri appeared for the prosecution.
