'My third term will have big decisions, NDA will cross 400 seats': PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn't mince words as he made it certain that the BJP-led NDA government will come to power for the third time with a huge majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.PM Modi then took a jibe at Congress saying the grand old party will have the people’s blessings to remain in opposition again.

“It is more or less sure that BJP will cross 370 seats in elections. NDA together will have more than 400 seats.” PM Modi was replying to the debate on the motion of thanks for the President's speech in the Lok Sabha.

While in the debate, PM Modi enumerated the achievements India saw during his ten illustrious years in office. PM Modi later criticized leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi and the family politics espoused by them throughout the years.

PM Modi also made a riposte at Rahul Gandhi’s earlier comment about opening a shop of love in BJP’s bazaar of hate.

PM Modi:

All shops are now shut down. The alliance is in shambles. Going by this standard, congress will take more time to get back in shape. Leaders have changed in the party but like a tape recorder, the whole system remains archaic. I will teach you how to come up with new issues during election time.

Whatever reform we come up with congress will oppose. They opposed it only because Modi brought it. But actually, it is not for Modi’s good, but the reforms are for the nation. By opposing such a process, the opposition is delaying development in the country. If it was Congress party at the helm, it would have required anywhere near 100 years to bring these reforms to action.

It is not wrong for more than one person from one family to enter politics. But a family running and controlling a political party will not benefit the country. Chairmanship is passed on to family members. Ghulam Nabi left the party without getting the opportunity.

My third term will have big decisions. India will finally turn into the third-best economic superpower.

Rahul Gandhi's allegation of lack of OBC representation in the central government was countered shrewdly by placing erstwhile Congress manoeuvres to oust former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur from power. Karpoori Thakur was from OBC caste.
