15-year-old boy hangs himself after his parents refuse to give him mobile phone

PARASSALA: A 15-year-old boy hanged himself at home after his parents refused to give him his mobile phone. The deceased has been identified as Bharath Adithya (15), the son of Chenkavila native Satheesh. Bharath's parents had taken the mobile phone away from him saying that they would give it after his exams.

The incident took place when Bharath's father and mother had gone to work on Saturday. Although Bharath's mother, an employee of a private company, called the land phone at home several times to console Bharath, he did not pick up the calls. On returning home, she found Bharath hanging from the fan. Although she immediately rushed Bharath to the Parashala Taluk Hospital with the help of another person, his life could not be saved. Bharath was a student at a private school in Neyyattinkara. His father Satheesh is an employee of Tamil Nadu Police.
