Renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passes away at 65

MUMBAI: Renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passed away here on Wednesday. He was 65 years old. He was hospitalized in a private hospital, where he breathed his last. Sangeeth made his directorial debut through Vyooham (1990) and went on to make Malayalam movies like Yodha, Gandharvam, Nirnayam, Daddy, Johnny and Snehapoorvam Anna.

After debuting in Hindi through Zor with Sunny Deol in the lead, Sangeeth also directed seven other Hindi movies.

His 'Johnny' won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Children's Film in 1993. He also brought musician AR Rahman to Malayalam through Yoddha.

Wife - Jayashree, Children - Sajna and Shanthanu. Famous director and cinematographer Santosh Sivan and director Sanjeev Sivan are his brothers.
