Jason to 'change track' after Sigma; Mamitha Baiju to join project

Director Alleppey Ashraf shared his thoughts regarding the entry of Jason Sanjay—son of Tamil superstar Vijay—into the film industry, as well as his future pursuit of acting. Ashraf discussed Sanjay’s cinematic career via his YouTube channel.

Jason started as a director but will soon be preparing to make his debut as a lead actor. Mamitha, who proved her mettle across various languages, also commands a large fan base in Tamil Nadu. It is reported that Mamitha will act alongside Jason in his hero debut.

Jason Sanjay initially entered the field as a director. However, his film 'Sigma', bombed at the box office. The result was disappointing. The moive had numerous fight sequences filmed at a massive financial cost.

Jason Sanjay is starting where Vijay ended. Fans believe the teen will follow in the footsteps of his father. The project gains further significance with the inclusion of Mamitha, currently a highly sought-after actress, as the female lead opposite Sanjay. It is unique that Mamitha, who acted opposite Vijay in the superstar’s swansong movie, will be the actress in Vijay’s son’s first movie.

There is ambiguity regarding the director of the movie. Amid rumours from some quarters, sources indicate that it would be Venky Atluri, the director of the movie *Vishwanath and Sons*, who would helm affairs in the movie.
