Woman commits suicide after setting up pyre in Vadanappally

THRISSUR: A 52-year-old woman committed suicide after setting up her pyre in Vadanappally. The dead is Shiny, wife of the late Ramesh of Thrithallur Ezhamkallu Kozhisseri. The incident happened on Monday. A note saying all that she had is for her daughter, was found from the place.

Shiny committed suicide after preparing her pyre with woods adjacent to her house. The body was found fully burnt.

The news of her death came to light after her daughter Bilu reached home from Dubai on Tuesday early morning. She first saw the note hinting the place where the key of the house is kept. She then entered the house and saw the suicide note. She called her neighbors and, in the search, conducted saw the burnt body of her mother.

Her neighbors said they saw smoke emanating from her compound Monday evening. They thought she was burning garbage after cleaning the house as her daughter was arriving. They were not able to see properly as it was covered with a plastic sheet.

It is also heard that she had asked to send the rent of the shop to her daughter’s account. She had also transferred all her money from her account to her daughter’s account. Shiny’s other daughter, a medical student, had died a year ago. Her relatives said that she was upset after the incident. After the police inquest, the post-mortem was conducted.
