PALAKKAD: MP Shafi Parambil lashed out heavily against the CPM cyber wing and said that the ‘kafir’ screenshots during the Lok Sabha elections were the last ditch attempt to divide the voters. Shafi said the CPM workers themselves should question such egregious methods of creating rift within communities.
“It is appreciable that the anonymous cyber faces of CPM are now coming out in public. Hitherto, the party leadership enjoyed the comfort of dismissing such people as trolls because they were anonymous ones. Now, let’s see how the party will react. We have got information that some of the perpetrators are full-time members of CPM. Many of them have now blocked their profiles on Facebook. I don’t feel like the plan coming from one single member. The brain is somebody else and it was evident when a former MLA wasted no time to share the incident on social media during the time.
Just imagine how the police would have reacted if the perpetrators were somebody from the opposition parties. It is due to such lax from police that the court had to intervene.” Shafi was responding to the press in Palakkad about the report submitted by the police in High Court on the kafir screenshot case.
Opposition leader VD Satheesan made serious allegations against the CPM in the Kafir screenshot controversy in Vadakara. VD Satheesan said that something similar to terrorist activity happened in Vadakara and said the police have a clear idea about the brain behind the move but are not yet ready to reveal the name. VD Satheesan said that the legal battle will continue until the real accused are brought to light.
