Tight competition: National and state film awards will be announced tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 70th National Film Awards and the Kerala State Film Awards will be announced tomorrow. The national awards will be announced at 3 pm tomorrow, while the state awards will be announced at 12 noon. Mammootty's 'Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam', Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara', 'KGF 2', 'Brahmastra' 'Ponniyin Selvan' and 'Mahaan' are some of the main films competing in the 70th National Awards.

About 10 films have reached the final round for the state film awards. The major films under consideration by the jury are 'Aadujeevitham' and 'Kaathal- The Core'. Reports are claiming that there is tough competition between Blessy and Jeo Baby for the best director award. Urvashi and Parvathy's riveting performances in 'Ullozhukku' have earned them both a spot in the final round of the Best Actress Award. According to sources, AR Rahman is being considered for the Best Music Director Award for his music in the film 'Aadujeevitham'.
