Actor Saif Ali Khan stabbed six times, undergoing surgery

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during a burglary attempt. He was attacked by an intruder, who barged into his flat in Bandra to commit burglary early Thursday morning around 2.30 am. The actor was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He was allegedly stabbed six times and is presently undergoing surgery.

A fight broke out between the actor and the intruder and the latter then stabbed the actor and fled the spot. He was rushed to the hospital by his elder son Ibrahim and a

caretaker. He sustained six wounds caused by a sharp object. Two of his wounds are deep, one near the spinal cord and one on the left wrist.

Police has started an investigation and an FIR against an intruder has been lodged at the Bandra Police Station. Three caretakers working at the actor’s house are being interrogated by the police. One was reportedly injured during the fight.

An official statement has been issued by Saif Ali Khan's team says, ‘There was an attempted burglary at the actor’s residence. He is presently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.’
