NEW DELHI: India and ISRO have created history. The Space Docking Experiment (SpaDEX), which combines satellites in space, has been successfully completed. The docking experiment, which combines satellites in earth's orbit, was completely successful in the fourth phase. An official announcement that the mission was successful will be made soon. With this, India has become the fourth country to accomplish space docking. Only Russia, United States and China have had the space docking technology so far.

The chaser and target satellites of the SPaDEX mission were combined in space Thursday morning. Last Sunday, the satellites were successfully brought to a distance of three meters. The experiment was then postponed to today. All the errors found in the previous test phases were corrected and the satellites were successfully combined today. The chaser and target satellites were sent into space on the PSLV rocket on December 30.

Space docking is an essential technology for projects including India's own space station, the Indian Space Station. Along with this, today's historic success will also be a great asset for the Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-4 projects. The docking technology was developed by India itself. It has also been patented under the name Bharatiya Docking System. India has reportedly achieved the goal at the lowest cost.
