Hajj quota finalized; India signs Haj agreement with Saudi Arabia

NEW DELHI: 1,75,025 pilgrims from India will be able to perform Hajj this year. India has signed bilateral agreement with Saudi Arabia finalizing the quota. The agreement was signed by Union Minister Kiran Rijiju and Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr Tawfiq Bin Fawzan al-Rabiah in Jeddah.

Kiran Rijiju said both sides have decided to strengthen mutual cooperation to ensure a safe and satisfying Hajj experience. Minister visited Jeddah Hajj Terminal to review arrangements and preparations for Hajj. He also held a meeting with Muslim World League Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa.

"Haj Agreement 2025 signed with H.E. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister for Hajj and Umrah of Kindom of Saudi Arabia. Finalized a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Haj 2025. We are committed to provide best possible services to all our Haj Pilgrims," Minister Kiran Rijiju posted on X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the post with the comment, "I welcome this agreement, which is wonderful news for Hajj pilgrims from India. Our Government is committed to ensuring improved pilgrimage experiences for devotees."
