Charge sheet filed in Nenmara double murder case, Chenthamara lone accused

PALAKKAD: The investigation team has submitted the charge sheet in the Nenmara double murder case. The charge sheet was submitted in the Alathur Magistrate Court. Chenthamara is the sole accused in the case. The police have submitted a 480-page charge sheet in the court. There are more than 130 witnesses in the case, including the police. More than 30 documents and scientific evidence, including forensic examination results, have been submitted in the charge sheet.

Chenthamara brutally killed Sudhakaran (56) of Pothundi at Nenmara in Palakkad and his mother Lakshmi (78). The reason for the murder was personal enmity. Sudhakaran seeing Chenthamara with a knife in his hand on the morning of January 27, reversed his vehicle. Provoked over it, he attacked and killed his neighbour. Chenthamara committed the murders while on bail for murdering Sudhakaran's wife Sajitha in 2019.

When he saw Lakshmi standing in front of the house, attacked her also. Chenthamara killed two more people after released on bail in the murder case of Sajitha.

Chenthamara suspected that his wife left him due to witchcraft by Sudhakaran's family. An astrologer had said that a woman with long hair was behind the collapse of his family.

Chenthamara, who believed it, suspected Sajitha from the neighbouring house. When Sajitha was talking on the phone, he thought that it was with his wife. He believed the astrologer's words and determined to destroy Sajitha's family by cultivating enmity in his mind. In 2019, he murdered Sajitha by sneaking in from behind and slashing her neck with a knife when no one else was at home.
