KOLLAM: The District Crime Branch will investigate to find out if more people were involved in the abduction of a six-year-old girl from Pooyappally. As part of this, the Crime Branch on Tuesday recorded the statements of some of those who said that they saw the car in which the accused travelled. The Crime Branch officials also collected surveillance camera footage from the areas where the car was spotted by the witnesses.

It is hoped that Padmakur, his wife Anithakumari and daughter Anupama, who were arrested from Chatannoor, will be handed over to the custody of the Crime Branch on Thursday. The officials will check the details of the accused's financial liability and recent phone calls.

The Crime Branch team conducted an inspection at Padmakumar's house in Mampallikunnam and his farmhouse in Chirakkara on Tuesday. Padmakumar's farmhouse employee had received a death threat over the phone two days ago. The employee's husband was attacked on Monday night. Meanwhile, the Chathannoor police said that both incidents were not related to the kidnapping case.
