Four killed in bus-auto collision in Angamaly

KOCHI: Four persons were killed when a private bus and an auto collided at Angamaly. Three women passengers of the auto and its driver were those killed.

The auto driver has been identified as Joseph, native of Angamaly itself. The women has been identified as Mary Mathai (65), Mary George (60) and Rosy Thomas (55).

The incident happened Monday morning at 7.15 am at the Bank Junction on the national highway in Angamaly.

The bus coming from the bus stand hit the auto which was coming to the national highway from Focus Road.

The police, the fire brigade and the locals tried hard to take the bodies out. The bodies were later shifted to the hospital. Transportation came to a standstill for some time following the incident.
