Transgenders stopped on way to Sabarimala, complaint lodged

PAMPA: A complaint has been lodged for stopping transgenders who came for Ayyappa darshan. The complaint mentioned that Tripti, Avantika and Renju were stopped at Pampa. Renju said the police stopped them for no reason. Meantime, police said they were stopped for examining the identity cards. After examining it, they were allowed for Ayyappa darshan, said the police.

Mandala pooja will be held today marking the end of the 41-day mandala season. The procession carrying the thanka anki (golden attire) of Lord Ayyapa reached the temple Thursday evening. The mandala pooja ceremonies adorning the thanka anki will be held from 10 am to 11.45 am. The temple will close Friday night by singing harivarasanam. The temple will open for makaravilakku on December 30. Security has been strengthened ahead of mandala pooja.
