THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 13 more regions have been identified as hotspots in Kerala. Kottayam municipality (Containment zone: Ward 36), Pallickathodu(8), and Karukachal (7) in Kottayam district, Vattamkkulam (all wards), Edappal (all wards), Alamcode (all wards), Ponnani municipality (except ward no 1, 2, 3, 50 and 51), Maranchery (all wards) and Pulpatta (7) in Malappuram district, Aroor (1) and Chennithala (14) in Alappuzha district, Parakkadavu(8) and Kochi corporation(67) in Ernakulam district are the new hotspots in the state. At present, there are 124 hotspots in the state.
Meanwhile, the state has confirmed 118 new coronavirus positive cases on Sunday while 42 coronavirus patients tested negative. As of today, there are 2015 active cases under treatment for the viral disease at various hospitals in Kerala. 2150 persons recovered from the disease.
