THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 6316 cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among this, 5539 persons developed the disease through contact including 634 cases without an identified source of infection. 98 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 45 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5924 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 61,455 active cases in the state.

In the last 24 hours, 56,993 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 11.08.
With the addition of 4 new regions today and the removal of 28, there are 479 hotspots in the state.
