Senior IAS officer E K Majhi dies of Covid-19

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer and additional chief secretary E K Majhi died of Covid-19. Majhi, a Kerala cadre officer was on central deputation. After turning positive, he was undergoing treatment at Yasoda Hospital in Gaziabad.

He was the additional secretary in the Union Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies. He went on central deputation in 2015 while serving as the chief electoral officer in Kerala. He had served as the collector of Thiruvananthapuram and principal secretary (revenue).

Although there was improvement in his health condition in the last few days, he lost his life. He started his official career as Alappuzha sub-collector. He died while having two-and a half-years of service. He was a 1989 batch officer.
