Low pressure to intensify, Met Dept forecasts thundershowers in state for next four days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the next four days as the low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea is likely to intensify. The forecast also predicts new low pressure is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal by Tuesday. As a result, heavy rains are forecast in the coming days.

The north-westerly low-pressure area is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours and turn into extreme low pressure in the next 24 hours, and move away from the Indian coast. A cyclone is located off the coast of Andhra Pradesh in the Bay of Bengal. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast a new low pressure area in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal by November 9. The statement warns of strong winds and isolated heavy rains in the state with thunderstorms till November 9 and advises the public to exercise caution.
