Three-year-old boy drowns in fish pond

CHERUTHONI: A three-year-old boy died after falling into a fish pond while playing in the backyard. The deceased has been identified as Ivan, son of Perinchankutty native Saji and Shilpa. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon.

Saji's wife and mother-in-law were in the yard when Ivan was playing in the yard. However, Ivan fell into a pond near the house while the two went inside the house for a moment. Though Ivan was rushed to a private hospital, he could not be saved. The body has been shifted to the Idukki Medical College for post mortem.
