Kerala records 9066 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, 19 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 9066 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 8198 persons developed the disease through contact, including 628 cases without an identified source of infection. 127 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 113 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

2064 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 44,441 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 19 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 50,053.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram 2200, Ernakulam 1478, Thrissur 943, Kozhikode 801, Kottayam 587, Kollam 551, Palakkad 511, Kannur 417, Pathanamthitta 410, Alappuzha 347, Malappuram 309, Idukki 239, Wayanad 155, Kasaragod 118.

63,898 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
