THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a major reshuffle in the CPM Thiruvananthapuram district committee. The CPM’s new district committee has included many including child welfare committee chief Shiju Khan. Meantime, former Attingal MP A Sampath has been excluded from the committee. Thiruvananthapuram mayor Arya Rajendran, Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prashanth, and Aruvikkara MLA G Stephen were not considered for the district committee this time.

Allegations were levelled against Shiju Khan, SFI’s former state president in the adoption controversy at the child welfare committee. However, he was included in the district committee this time.

DYFI district secretary and state vice president K P Pramosh, SFI State President Bineesh, district panchayat vice president Shailaja Begum, Kisan Sabha National Committee member Preeja, Area Secretary D K Sashi, Jayadaven and Ambili were included in the district committee for the first time this year.

Former DYFI district secretary S P Deepak has also been included in the district committee. Deepak, a member of the Vanchiyoor area committee, was demoted to the local committee following his remarks that children in Kaithamukku ate soil due to starvation. He was later brought to the Vanchiyoor Area Committee as part of corrective action.
