THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Soon after inviting the Muslim League to the Front, CPM central committee member and LDF convenor E P Jayarajan showered praise on party’s national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty. He addressed Kunhalikutty as the ‘King Maker of Political Policy Making’.
Jayarajan said that he is firm in his stand of inviting the League to the front and would adopt a tactical policy to win the Lok Sabha polls. Meantime, the CPI had pooh-poohed the words of Jayarajan. The expansion of the front is not under discussion, said CPI general secretary Kanam Rajendran. It was Jayarajan’s personal opinion, he said. Jayarajan had said that they would welcome the IUML into its fold if they desert the congress and that the RSP which is in the UDF should also reconsider.
Kunhalikutty said the party is in a front which is strong. Need not have to change that. There is no such thing in the party agenda. He said the party is politically committed and its alliance with the UDF would not waver. Don’t try to think of taking the RSP as their slave. Meantime, RSP state secretary A A Aziz said Jayarajan should clearly understand the things which led the RSP to leave the Left Front.
