Clash in Nooranad; Public prosecutor also a CPI activist arrested; five congress activists also held

ALAPPUZHA: District public prosecutor has been arrested in the clash between the CPI and the congress in Nooranad. Advocate Solomon, public prosecutor of Mavelikara district court, was arrested in the case of attacking the congress.

The video of Solomon directing the attack in front of the congress office had circulated. A case was registered against Solomon based on it. He is also the CPI Alappuzha district council member.

Meantime, a case has also been registered against five congress activists in the case of attacking the CPI activists and the police. The clashes between the two parties in the area were sparked by CPI activists first hoisting flags and then flagpoles in front of the Congress office.

A hartal was observed in five panchayats near Charummoodu on Thursday after CPI activists stormed the Congress office. The police had arrested four people in connection with the incident.

Two CPI activists were arrested for vandalising the congress office and two Congress activists for allegedly attacking the police.
