DHARAMSALA: Khalistan flags were found draped over the gates and boundary wall of the Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly in Dharamshala on Sunday. In addition, pro-Khalistani graffiti and slogans were also found painted on the walls. The police have declared investigation into the incident. The police are trying to find the culprits by examining the CCTV footage.

“Some miscreants had put up five to six Khalistani flags on the outer gate of the state legislative assembly at Tapivan and had written Khalistan Zindabad slogans on the wall. The flags have been removed and the writings have been cleared. Police have registered a case and an investigation is in progress”, said deputy commissioner Nipun Jindal.

The chief minister of the state has condemned the incident. “I condemn the cowardly incident of raising Khalistan flags at the gate of Dharamshala assembly complex in the dark of night. This incident will be investigated immediately and strict action will be taken against the culprits. I would like to tell those people that if you have the courage, then come out in the light of day, not in the dark of night", Chief Minister Jairam Thakur wrote on Twitter.
