Koolimadu bridge: no fault in quality or procedure, mechanical failure of hydraulic jacks is the cause of accident, KIIFB gives explanation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KIIFB gave an explanation for the cause of accident on the Kozhikode Koolimadu bridge, it is due to mechanical failure of hydraulic jacks. KIIFB clarified that the quality or the procedures of the project was not compromised. The accident was caused by a mechanical failure of the hydraulic jacks used to lift the girders. The accident was caused due to a few issues related to vocational skills. KIIFB said the girders' cube stretch was in a satisfactory condition.
