THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress state vice president and former MLA K S Sabarinathan has been arrested in the case of trying to kill the chief minister on a flight. The government lawyer informed the court that the arrest of the former MLA has been recorded.

Sabarinathan is presently in Shanghumugham Assistant Commissioner's office. The Thiruvananthapuram District Sessions Court had directed the government lawyer not to record the arrest until a decision has been taken on the bail plea. However, when the case was considered at 11 am, the lawyer informed the court that the arrest had been registered. His arrest was recorded at 10.50 am.

A screen shot of a WhatsApp message that said the conspiracy was planned by Sabarinathan was circulated on social media the other day. The message in the name of Sabarinathan said that the chief minister is coming from Kannur by plane and that we should protest.

The police started an investigation in the matter after this. Based on this, the police instructed Sabarinathan to reach the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Shanghumugham. Sabarinathan reached the station at 10.30 am.

Meantime, the youth congress is protesting in front of the Valiyathura Police Station after the arrest of Sabarinathan. Hibi Eden MP responded that the arrest was a conspiracy between the chief minister and the ministers.
