PATHANAMTHITTA: Health Minister Veena George has carried out a flash inspection at Thiruvalla Taluk Hospital, on Saturday. The minister arrived by around 11 am. At the time, there was a long queue of patients at the hospital. However, only two OPs were functioning.

The investigation also revealed that the doctors had left the hospital after signing the register. In addition, the patients complained to the minister about the non-availability of various essential medicines.

The hospital superintendent Ajaya Mohan was transferred to Chengannur after it was found that there was a failure in the management of the hospital. “If there isn’t enough staff, then why weren’t temporary staff appointed?”, asked the minister. According to reports, complaints were lodged against the superintendent earlier as well.
