THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the 75th Independence Day celebrations, the Bharatiyam Awards, jointly conferred by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Study Centre and Swastik School of Performing Arts, has been announced. Kerala Kaumudi reporter K S Sujilal has bagged the award, which aims to honour journalists for their excellent work in the media field.
The honour has been awarded in consideration of the reports on agriculture and write-ups on farmers who inspire others to make agriculture their livelihood despite physical limitations. Binu Thankachan (Malayala Manorama), Dileep Malayalappuzha (Deshabhimani), R Pradeep (Janmabhumi), Aniru Ashokan (Madhyamam), Anil Gopi (Photographer, Janmabhumi), and P Shamseer (Photographer, Chandrika) have also won the award.
The award will be presented at a function to be held at Nandavanam Krishnapillai Hall on August 14, said Poovachal Sudheer, study centre director.
