PALAKKAD: Two people have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of CPM activist Shajahan. The reports that come in are that among the two one has a direct involvement in the murder and the other had helped the accused. There is a total of eight accused in the case.
As per the FIR, Sabari, the first accused was the first to hack Shajahan with a sword. Later, the second accused, Anish, also hacked him. The FIR said rest of the six accused aided in the murder.
The case is being investigated by a 19-member team comprising of four circle inspectors under the leadership of Palakkad DySP V K Raju. CPM local committee member Shajahan was murdered on Sunday at 9.15 pm. Meantime, the family alleged that Shajahan had received death threats and that BJP is behind the planned murder. 'The murder will not happen without the help of the BJP. Two days ago accused Anish, Shabarish and Naveen threatened to hack him. The accused were CPM workers till a year ago. ‘There were differences of opinion between Shajahan and the accused for the last one year, the relatives told a private channel.
