BASEL: 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer has announced his retirement. The 41-year-old tennis legend announced on social media that he is ending his 24-year-long career after the Laver Cup, an ATP tournament scheduled to be held in London next week.
Federer said the past three years have been "testing" due to form problems, injuries and surgery. He noted that he has played more than 1,500 matches in a 24-year career and that tennis has treated him better than he ever dreamt.
