Stones pelted at bus in Kottayam, woman doctor fractures finger, subjected to surgery

KOTTAYAM: A woman doctor fractured her finger in the stone pelting towards a KSRTC bus in Kurichi outpost. Dr Amala K Joseph, casualty medical officer (CMO) of Changanassery General Hospital sustained the fracture. She was subjected to a surgery in the hospital where she is working.

A two-member team in a bike attacked the bus. The incident happened when the doctor, a native of Ettumanoor, was returning home in the morning after night duty.

KSRTC is operating services in Kottayam under police protection. Saravana Hotel opened in M C Road, Kurichi was also attacked. Glasses in front of the hotel were damaged.
