THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The process of locking and sealing the offices of the banned Popular Front and its eight affiliated organizations continues in the state under the leadership of the NIA and the Kerala Police. About 30 offices have been closed so far.

NIA sealed 17 key offices, including Unity House, the state committee office of PFI in Kozhikode. The other offices were sealed by the police. The police action is as per the instructions of the District Collectors. Two trust offices related to Popular Front were locked and sealed in Kasargod. Notices were pasted in many places stating that the office was being confiscated and should not be used for other purposes.

Police chief Anil Kant has sent a circular to the intelligence chief, zonal IGs, range DIGs and district police chiefs explaining the procedures for notifying the offices to be shut down.

Most of the offices of the banned organizations are with orphanages, schools and trust offices. There are residents including women and children. These offices will be shut down without causing any disturbance to these people. The NIA and the police have collected the ownership documents of the offices. Offices in the rented building will also be closed.
