THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty came forward responding on the chief minister and ministers’ visit abroad which sparked a controversy. He said the chief minister will explain everything regarding the visit as soon as he returns.
‘The ministers have not returned. Can you term it as extravaganza before that?
If the husband becomes a minister, is that a wife should not leave the house. They came at their own expense. The ministers took their own wives. Achievements are not like buying things from a shop. All that will be seen in the future,' said Sivankutty.
Meantime, CPM state secretary M V Govindan had stated that the foreign trip of ministers is for the development of the country and not for pleasure. He said this while responding to Union Minister V Muraleedharan's criticism. Muraleedharan said the centre was not informed about the chief minister's foreign visit. He said the chief minister and his family are on a pleasure trip at a time when the people are in fear of their lives.
