CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has honored the police officers who intervened in a timely manner in the Coimbatore terror attack case. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin felicitated the officers for putting up an efficient investigation into the car bomb blast case by handing them over a certificate of appreciation.
It must be noted that the Tamil Nadu government organized the ceremony to honor the investigating officers while the BJP was alleging that the Tamil Nadu police had failed in the case investigation. According to sources, the government felicitated the officials for arresting the accused and collecting crucial evidence within hours of the blast.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was appointed within 12 hours to probe the Diwali blast incident, had arrested six people and seized explosives. The government also praised the probe team by stating that the police maintained law and order in the city flawlessly after the terror attack during Diwali celebrations. The Chief Minister directly handed over letters of appreciation to 14 out of the 58 police officers.
