KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed the government to do everything possible and to ensure law and order in Vizhinjam. The court’s directive was on the plea filed by Adani Group seeking protection from the protesters for the construction of the harbour.
The Adani Group argued that there is serious law and order issue in the area of the harbour project. Adani Group informed the high court that the protesters have their own law and a war against the government, police and the court are seen in Vizhinjam.
Meantime, the government informed the court that nearly 5000 policemen have been deployed in the area. Almost 3000 protesters surrounded the police station. The government informed that some policemen sustained injuries and that a FIR has been registered. The plea will be considered again on Friday.
