Car loses control and falls 20 feet down in Palakkad; three including children injured

PALAKKAD: Three sustained injuries after a car losing control fell into a gorge. The accident happened near Kolappakkam Bridge at Karakurussi in Palakkad. Those injured are Babu (40) of Karakurussi Ettuppuram and children Akhil Krishna (14) and Abinja (13).


The car nearly fell 20 feet down. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Vattambalam. The accident happened on Thursday midnight. The road did not have a handrail at the accident site. The people who were in the car were taken out by the locals who came running hearing the sound of the car falling and the ambulance workers who arrived as per their information.


The fire brigade was also informed. A team comprising senior fire and rescue officers T Jayarajan, V Suresh Kumar, K V Sujith, M Ramesh, M R Ragil and T K Ansal Babu also reached the spot from the station. The injured were immediately admitted to the hospital. The information received from the hospital is that the injury is not serious.
