After Kochi, 5G services to be launched in Thiruvananthapuram soon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday virtually launched the 5G services in Kerala in Kochi. In the first phase, Jio's 5G service will be available in selected areas of Kochi Corporation. 5G will be available in around 130 towers in Kochi in the initial phase. Also, 5G will be operational in Guruvayur from today.

5G services will be available in the capital city from December 22. 5G will be extended to Thrissur, Alappuzha and Malappuram districts by the beginning of next year. Reliance Jio promises to provide full 5G service across the state by 2023. The company has prepared a system in a way customers can enjoy 5G service without changing SIM cards.

Reliance Jio started making 5G services available in the country from October. 5G has been made available on an experimental basis in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. Then it was extended to other states. Reliance had informed that 5G services will be available in all taluks of the country by the end of December.
