THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The meeting presided over by Minister Veena George decided to use only vegetable mayonnaise or mayonnaise made from pasteurized eggs in the restaurants in the state. The decision was taken in a meeting with representatives of organizations in the hotel, restaurant, bakery, street vendors and catering sectors. From now on, mayonnaise will not be made using raw eggs. Everyone agreed with this direction as it was dangerous to keep mayonnaise for too long.

Minister Veena George said that food safety should be ensured for health care. It has been directed that a sticker should be pasted on each food parcel stating the time of delivery and the time within which it should be consumed. All businesses were instructed to register or obtain a licence. The minister asked all establishments to cooperate with the hygiene rating implemented by the Food Safety Department. The minister also pointed out that this is a place to present the establishments that are functioning well by ensuring cleanliness.

"All establishments must display the Food Safety Department's toll-free number. Employees must obtain a medical fitness certificate. All must be trained by the Department of Food Safety. No matter whether the establishment is small or big, cleanliness is very important," the minister added.
