Three accused in 200 kg ganja haul case granted bail, court demands action against CI for lapse in probe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A court here has granted bail to three people accused in the case pertaining to the seizure of 200 kg ganja in Attingal. The police had to file a charge sheet within 180 days. As this did not happen, the court granted bail to the three accused. Criticizing the serious lapse on the part of the investigating officer, the court demanded action against Attingal SHO.

Kishore, of 'Shankara Bhavan' in Kattakada's Poovachal is the main accused in the case. The second and third accused in the case are Manu of Ramya Nivas in Sreekariyam's Peroorkonam and Vinod from Varkala's Chaluvila. On July 16, 2022, 200 kg of ganja kept for sale in a rented house in Attingal was seized in a joint investigation by Thiruvananthapuram Rural DANSAF Squad and Venjaramood police.

This was ganja that was brought in for retail sale in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. The group led by Kishore sold ganja brought from Andhra Pradesh and Orissa to Kerala. The sale was done after keeping it in secret warehouses.
