Kerala Kaumudi impact: CPO with goonda connections gets transfer

MANGALAPURAM: A CPO working in Rural having friendship with goondas and had controlled the stations by making even the inspectors irrelevant, has been transferred to the rural AR camp. Yesterday morning, Rural SP D Shilpa gave order to Nagaroor SHO to remove CPO from the charge of the station.

The action was taken after a report by 'Kerala Kaumudi' on Sunday about a CPO posing as a parallel SHO covering Mangalapuram and Pothankode stations. Vigilance has started investigation against him for illegal acquisition of wealth. Intelligence had also found that he had built a house in Venjaramoodu at a cost of two crore rupees. It has been found that he went to the shops with police jeep to buy tiles and sanitary products for the house for free and collected money forcibly.

Intelligence had found that this policeman was using a red Maruti Zen car belonging to a notorious gangster. This gangster is in jail now. It is reported that the leaders of the police organization also use this car. Due to constant complaints, the Special Branch Rural SP had given a report that he should not be given law and order charge, but he continued to be in charge using the influence of the police organization. Intelligence is also investigating his gangster and mafia connections.

It is alleged that the CPO was transferred to the rural AR camp to protect him. Two years ago, the State Special Branch had recommended his dismissal after finding corruption, gangster mafia and real estate connections in all the stations he worked, but the report was shelved because of his connections with the police organization.
