PHILADELPHIA: An Indian, working as part-time pizza delivery man from Telangana, was shot dead in Philadelphia. He has been identified as Anshul Kuncha (28) was shot dead by unknown assailants. The incident happened when he went to deliver pizza at a location in Philadelphia. Anshul was working for a multinational company and also worked as a part-time pizza delivery man. The incident happened on Saturday. When he arrived at the location with the pizza, a man with a gun approached him and repeatedly shot Anshul in the back of his head. It is reported that two people were present at the time. After the shooting, they fled the scene.
His family alleged that this was a trap to kill Anshul. No money or other items were stolen from Anshul, which led the family to suspect that this was a deliberate attempt to kill him. 'They asked to deliver the pizza in an abandoned area, but when he went there, no one was there. This was a trap to kill Anshul,' said his sister Tanvi. However, the family clarified that they do not know the motive of the killers. They requested to send his body to India as soon as possible.
Anshul has been working in the US for about four years. Authorities said that the body will be sent home on Monday. The family clarified that Anshul had no enmity with anyone. The Indian Consulate General in New York was informed the matter. ‘The untimely demise of Anshul Kuncha is very painful. We express our condolences to the family. I am in constant touch with Anshul's family,’ he wrote on social media.
