Harry Kane, Alexia Putellas crowned 2026 Ballon d’Or winners 

LONDON: Harry Kane won the 2026 Ballon d’Or for the best men’s footballer in the world, becoming the first Englishman to claim the award since Michael Owen in 2001. Spain’s Alexia Putellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the third time, having previously won it in 2021 and 2022.

Spain’s Lamine Yamal won his third consecutive Kopa Trophy for the best young male player, while Vicky López retained the women’s Kopa Trophy. Spain coach Luis de la Fuente was named best men’s coach, and Barcelona coach Pere Romeu won the best women’s coach award.

PSG won the best men’s club award, while Barcelona claimed the best women’s club honour. Kane also received the best men’s striker award, while Mexico’s Verónica Charlyn Corral won the best women’s striker award.
